Japanese design has long been admired in the West. Traditional ornamentation, known as mon, is especially valued for its breathtaking flow and engrossing patterns. This superb treasury offers more than 600 of the very best mon designs, originally used in Japan as family emblems or crests, and later used to decorate kimonos, lacquered furniture, and other traditional objects.
